D45 — akṣavedāṃśa

The akṣavedāṃśa (D45) divides every sign into 45 equal parts of 0°40′ and gives each part a sign of its own, so a graha's D45 position is a sign in a second chart. Parāśara names it among the sixteen vargas, gives the rule for assigning its signs, and in the viveka chapter says it is consulted for everything. SIA computes it for every kundli, with whole-sign houses from the D45 lagna, and reads it alongside the rāśi chart for that matter.
