Nakṣatra

The twenty-seven nakṣatras

The Moon crosses the 360° of the ecliptic in twenty-seven equal arcs of 13°20′ — the nakṣatras. Parāśara's daśā chapter keys the whole Vimśottarī system to them: the nakṣatra the Moon occupies at birth names the first mahādaśā lord, and the fraction of it still untraversed gives that daśā's balance.

The melāpaka (Kundli Milan) reads three more things off the birth nakṣatra — its gaṇa, yoni and nāḍī — and these pages state each one, with the doctrine record SIA scores it from.
