D10 — daśāṃśa
The daśāṃśa (D10) divides every sign into 10 equal parts of 3° and gives each part a sign of its own, so a graha's D10 position is a sign in a second chart. Parāśara names it among the sixteen vargas, gives the rule for assigning its signs, and in the viveka chapter says it is consulted for great deeds, rāja-affairs. SIA computes it for every kundli, with whole-sign houses from the D10 lagna, and reads it alongside the rāśi chart for that matter.
