D24 — caturviṃśāṃśa
The caturviṃśāṃśa (D24) divides every sign into 24 equal parts of 1°15′ and gives each part a sign of its own, so a graha's D24 position is a sign in a second chart. Parāśara names it among the sixteen vargas, gives the rule for assigning its signs, and in the viveka chapter says it is consulted for learning. SIA computes it for every kundli, with whole-sign houses from the D24 lagna, and reads it alongside the rāśi chart for that matter.
