Rāhu — Rahu
Rāhu is the ascending node of the Moon — a point, not a body, yet a graha in the texts: smoke-coloured, blue-bodied, forest-dwelling, terrifying, of vāta constitution and intelligent. He belongs to the army of the grahas' court, is of the cāṇḍāla class, wears a patchwork quilt, and holds eighteen years of the Vimśottarī cycle.

RenderingRāhu is smoke-coloured, blue-bodied, a dweller in forests, terrifying, of vāta constitution and intelligent; Ketu is of the same form as Rāhu.
राजानौ भानुहिमगू नेता ज्ञेयो धरात्मजः। बुधो राजकुमारश्च सचिवौ गुरुभार्गवौ।।३।।
RenderingAmong the grahas Sūrya and Candra are kings, Maṅgala the commander, Budha the prince, Guru and Śukra the ministers, Śani the servant, and Rāhu and Ketu the army.
राहुश्चाण्डालजातिश्च केतुर्जात्यन्तरस्तथा। शिखिस्वर्भानुमन्दानां वल्मीकस्थानमुच्यते।।३०।।
