RenderingMakara is tamasic, earthy, rules the south, is strong by night, rises by its back, is large-bodied, moves on marshy ground — four-footed in its first half and footless in its second, water-dwelling — and Śani is its lord.

He will be a religious hypocrite. He will be fortunate; he will be always on his legs; he will suffer from wind-disease and he will be devoid of all shame.
