शीर्षोदयोऽथ स्वल्पाङ्गो बहुपाद्ब्राह्मणो बली। सौम्यस्थो दिनवीर्याढ्यः पिशङ्गो जलभूचरः। रोमस्वाढ्योऽतितीक्ष्णाङ्गो वृश्चिकश्च कुजाधिपः।।१६।।

RenderingVṛścika rises by its head, is small-bodied, many-footed, of the brāhmaṇa varṇa, strong in the north and by day, smoky in colour, moving in water and on land, hairy, very sharp-limbed; Maṅgala is its lord.

वृत्तोरुजङ्घः पृथुनेत्रवक्षा रोगी शिशुत्वे गुरुतातहीनः । क्रूरक्रियो राजकुलाभिमुख्यः कीटेऽब्जरेखाङ्कितपाणिपादः ॥८॥

TranslationIf a person be born when sign Vrischika is rising, he will have round thighs and knees, broad and expansive eyes and chest, suffer from diseases at a very early age and will be separated from his parents and proceptors. He will do cruel acts, will be honoured by his sovereign and his hands and feet will possess marks of lotus (Padmarekha).
