Phaladīpikā — the names of the house
दुःखांघ्रिवामनयनक्षयसूचकान्त्यदारिद्र्यपापशयनव्ययरिःफबन्धान् । भावाह्वयानि गदिताः क्रमशोऽथ लीनस्थानं त्रिषड्व्ययपराभवराशिनाम् ॥१६॥
TranslationThe designations used for the 12th house are Duhkha (दुःख - misery), Anghri (अंघ्रि - leg), Vama Nayana (वामनयन -left eye), Kshaya (क्षय-loss, decline), Suchaka (सूचक - a tale-bearer, spy), Anthya (अन्त्य-last), Daridrya (दारिद्र्य-poverty), Papa (पाप-sin), Sayana (शयन - bed), Vyaya (व्यय), Ripha (रिःफ), and Bandha (बन्ध-imprisonment). Thus have been declared in their order the names of the 12 houses. The 3rd, the 6th, the 12th and the 8th houses are termed Leena Sthanas (लीनस्थान -concealed or hidden houses).

If the 12th lord is in the 7th or lagna, then the native does not have the happiness of a woman (wife); he is weak, afflicted with phlegm disease, and devoid of wealth and knowledge.
व्ययेशे च धने रन्ध्रे विष्णुभक्तिसमन्वितः। धार्मिकः प्रियवादी च सम्पूर्णगुणसंयुतः।।८७।।
If the 12th lord is in the 2nd or 8th house, the native is a devotee of Vishnu, religious, eloquent, and virtuous.
भार्याद्वेषी प्रियद्वेषी गुरुद्वेषी भवेन्नरः। व्ययेशे सहजे धर्मे स्वशरीरस्य पोषकः।।८८।।
